Powered Armor concept #1

Details about the KSA-C4/MR-9

A ground deployed, flamer unit from the 101st PACkeRs (101st Powered Armor Combat Ready Division), attached to an M.I. Squad of 8 to 10 Troopers.  Armed with a flame-thrower and two rocket pods.  Tanks filled with an undisclosed flammable liquid mixture are mounted on the back; feeder hoses lead to the pressurizing mechanism.  This MR-9 flamer has an effective range of 300-feet (...that's the length of a football field!).  Attached to each side is a pod firing 35 micro-rockets each with a range of roughly 4km.  They can rotate 65º in either direction to assist in trajectory targeting.

Here is the Powered Armor in-the-round, from all sides!  Note the ballistic cloth that protects the joints.  An offset layer protects the waist and flexible areas of the upper legs.  In the field of battle, this proved to be a "weak spot" such as the turret ring on a tank.  Several types of defense have been employed to ensure the suit's survivability.

Details of the rocket pods and fuel tanks making up the VOE (Variant Optional Equipment) system.

A bulletproof cockpit window aids the pilot.  Note the two protective rails above the canopy, helping to deflect larger
debris.  The phased-array dome is located on the left chest, and the extendable radar mast over the right shoulder.

Details of the MR-9 flamer, showing how the feeder hoses attach to the fuel tanks, and the ignition system.

Details of the extendable radar mast, shoulder guard and reaction thrusters.
This is also a good view of the ballistic cloth that protects the ankles.

Here is the first suit, finished and primed!

The foundation for this project is a 1/6-Scale S.A.F.S. (seen below) from Kow Yokoyama's "Ma.K. ZbV3000 Maschinen Krieger". He stands nearly 16 inches tall (with the periscope raised)! This has been heavily modified from the original kit, using over 100 additional parts and found-objects... kit-bashing the whole way to produce this Powered Armor concept.

Using re-cast parts from the 1/6-Scale SAFS... and a lot of other stuff!
